Fine Art Printing
Fine Art Printing
When the paper matters just as much as the picture.
We offer professional fine art printing right here at Nimmo Gallery in Greymouth, from artwork reproductions and photographers' prints through to exhibitions, limited editions and one-off pieces.
We can work from your finished digital file, or if you're an artist with an original artwork you'd like reproduced, we can help with that part too.
Printed in-house
Our fine art printing is done in-house on our large-format Epson SureColor P9070, using Epson UltraChrome pigment inks.
Keeping the printing here in the gallery means we can keep an eye on the whole process ourselves — from checking your file and choosing the paper through to the finished print.
We can print up to 44 inches wide, giving us plenty of scope for larger work as well as smaller fine art prints.
Artwork reproduction
We work with local artists to turn original artwork into high-quality fine art reproductions.
Bring your original artwork into the gallery and we can professionally photograph/copy it, prepare the digital file and print reproductions on your choice of fine art paper.
Whether you're wanting a handful of prints to sell, building up stock for markets and galleries, or creating a limited edition run, we can work with you from the original artwork right through to the finished prints.
We can also keep your artwork file on hand, making it easy to order more prints when you need them.
The paper
For most of our fine art printing we use Breathing Color Optica One, a 300gsm cotton rag fine art paper with a smooth matte finish. It's a great all-rounder and one we know and trust.
If you've got a particular look or feel in mind, though, we're not limited to just one paper. Stew is always happy to talk paper — probably for longer than you bargained for — and can help find an option that suits your work.
Smooth, textured, matte, pearl or something a little different, have a chat with us about what you're trying to achieve.
One print or a whole exhibition
We can help with everything from a single special print through to exhibition work, limited edition runs and ongoing reproduction printing for artists.
For bigger projects, get in touch and have a chat with us about what you're planning.
Getting your artwork or files to Stew
Fine art printing and artwork reproduction is handled mianly by Stew, so if you've already got a finished digital file, you can send it directly to him at photos@stewartnimmo.co.nz For larger files, WeTransfer works well too, just send the transfer to the same address.
You're also welcome to bring your files into the gallery on a USB or hard drive.
If you'd like us to reproduce an original artwork, bring the original into the gallery and Stew can talk you through the process, from creating the digital copy through to paper, sizing and the finished prints.
For exhibitions, limited edition runs or anything a little out of the ordinary, it's worth having a chat with Stew first about what you're wanting to achieve.
Need it framed too?
Because we also make our frames in-house, your finished print doesn't have to go very far.
We can take your fine art print right through to a finished framed piece, with a range of mouldings, mat boards and glass options available.
