Sunburst | Lake Heron
Ashburton Collection, Limited Edition
Stew used a small aperture to deliberately create the sunburst effect in this photograph at Lake Heron, turning the sun into a star of light above the mountains.
It's a simple camera technique, but one that worked particularly well with the wide open landscape, lake and Canterbury high country stretching out below.
Photographed by Stewart Nimmo as part of the Ashburton Collection, a limited edition series of square black and white photographs created specifically for an exhibition in Ashburton.
